With the worldwide excitement around the recently announced European tour, GRAMMY®-winning, progressive music titans Dream Theater are announcing their 40th Anniversary Tour 2024 – 2025 leg for North America. The tour will be An Evening With Dream Theater and will be the first tour of North America since drummer Mike Portnoy’s return to the lineup joining vocalist James LaBrie, bassist John Myung, guitarist John Petrucci, and keyboardist Jordan Rudess.&nbsp;<a rel="noopener" href="http://www.dreamtheater.net" target="_blank" title="dream theater">Dream Theater</a> will be performing classics and fan favorites from their catalog in what promises to be an unforgettable evening of music. 
Progressive metal pioneers&nbsp;Dream Theater&nbsp;share a unique bond with one of the most passionate fan bases around the globe as evidenced by their three GRAMMY®&nbsp;Award nominations, 2022 GRAMMY®&nbsp;Award win in the Best Metal Performance category for “The Alien” and 15 million records sold worldwide. The 1992 opus&nbsp;Images &amp; Words&nbsp;received a gold certification and landed on&nbsp;Rolling Stone’s coveted&nbsp;“100 Greatest Metal Albums of All-Time.”&nbsp;Guitar World&nbsp;placed the follow-up&nbsp;Awake&nbsp;at #1 on&nbsp;“Superunknown: 50 Iconic Albums That Defined 1994.”&nbsp;1996’s&nbsp;A Change of Seasons&nbsp;notably soundtracked NBC’s coverage of Downhill Skiing at the 2002 Winter Olympics. On their 15th&nbsp;full-length and second studio release for InsideOutMusic / Sony Music,&nbsp;A View From The Top Of The World&nbsp;the band continue to challenge themselves and push their musical envelope – something they have done for over 30-years performing together. With his dynamic dancing and smooth yet gutsy, vocals, Morris Day played an essential role in the development of the Twin City dance/club sound of the 1980s. A founding member of Prince's band, the Time, in 1981, he remained with the group until 1984 when he launched his solo career. Returning for the first time in 1988, he performed and recorded with the Time from 1990 until 1991 and since 1995.
Day's involvement with Prince traces back to 1980 when his composition "Partyup," originally recorded when he was a member of the Enterprise, was covered on Prince's Dirty Mind album. Releasing his debut solo album, Color of Success, in 1985, Day reached his apex with his second solo album, Daydreaming, two years later. Produced by ex-Time members Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam, the album included the chart-topping R&amp;B tune "Fishnet." Day released his third solo album, Guaranteed, in 1992. After Guaranteed, Day toured on-again, off-again without any new product. He finally returned to record store racks in 2004 with It's About Time a mostly live album with a few new studio cuts, one including a guest appearance by rapper E-40. Day has appeared in such films as Prince's autobio-pic, Purple Rain, in 1984, and New Attitude in 1990.

CAKE: the Sacramento, CA based band that continues to maintain a wealth of originality. If Hank Williams Sr. and Sly Stone were having a party together, and they played AC/DC records backwards… that would be this band.
CAKE's adherence to their original guiding principles has only grown stronger over the years. Originally formed as a somewhat antagonistic answer to grunge, CAKE’s democratic processes, defiant self-reliance, and lucid yet ever-inventive music has made them a nation-state unto themselves, with no evident peers in sound or perspective. In addition to writing, arranging, producing, and performing their own music, they have taught themselves to engineer their recording projects in their Sacramento-based solar-powered studio, which regularly generates more power than is needed to run it, causing the building’s electrical meter to run in reverse.
CAKE’s most recent album, Showroom of Compassion, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and was touted as “deadpan brilliance” by The New Yorker Magazine. While seamlessly blending many genres and influences, CAKE truly issues forth a sound and vision unlike any other band. The band is currently at work on their ninth album due for release during autumn 2024. Additionally, there will be a limited edition “Live from Folsom” album issued during summer 2024
